Saudi Charities for Gaza: KSrelief, Sahem and Ehsan Explained
How to donate to Gaza from Saudi Arabia through official channels: what KSrelief, its Sahem platform and the Ehsan platform are, and how to check a charity.
In this article
The main official channel for giving to Gaza from Saudi Arabia is KSrelief, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre in Riyadh. Since 2 November 2023 it has run a Saudi popular campaign for the Palestinian people in Gaza, collecting donations through its Sahem platform and app. Ehsan, the national charity platform, is where many people in the Kingdom calculate and pay their Zakat.
This guide explains what each one is, using their own websites, so you can find the right page and tell the official sites from look-alikes. It is not a ranking, and we are not affiliated with any of them. At the end there is a short checklist for any charity, including us.
KSrelief: the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre
KSrelief describes itself as the body the Saudi leadership established to provide humanitarian aid and relief to people in need outside the Kingdom's borders. Its website says its activities were inaugurated in May 2015, and gives its address as King Abdullah Road in Riyadh. Its stated principles include coordinating with reliable international organisations and making sure aid reaches eligible recipients.
KSrelief publishes regular news of its work in Gaza. On 5 October 2026, for example, it reported distributing food baskets and drinking water in displacement camps in the Al-Mashtal area of northern Gaza, under a food-security project called Baskets of Goodness (سلال الخير), with the Saudi Center for Culture and Heritage as its implementing partner in the Strip.
Its website is ksrelief.org, with versions in Arabic and English. People searching in Arabic often look for it as مركز الملك سلمان للإغاثة, or simply سلمان للإغاثة.
The Saudi popular campaign for Gaza and the Sahem platform
On 2 November 2023, KSrelief announced a Saudi national campaign to support the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, launched on the directives of King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. In Arabic it is usually called الحملة الشعبية السعودية لإغاثة الشعب الفلسطيني, the Saudi popular campaign for the relief of the Palestinian people.
KSrelief's announcement listed the ways to give: the campaign page on its Sahem portal at sahem.ksrelief.org, the Sahem app on the Apple and Google Play stores, a unified bank account set up for the campaign, and the other donation channels on KSrelief's website. It also said that KSrelief does not deduct administrative fees from these donations.
If you want to give this way, open Sahem from KSrelief's own site rather than from a link in a message, and take bank details only from KSrelief's official pages. KSrelief's Gaza news items still describe its distributions as part of this campaign.
Ehsan: the national platform for charitable giving
Ehsan (إحسان) describes itself as a national non-profit system that passes the donations it receives to the people in greatest need through its partners, which it says are government bodies or licensed charitable associations. Its about page says it was launched by royal order No. 48019 dated 13/08/1441 AH, and that a later royal order, No. 40787 dated 19/05/1447 AH, turned it into the Ehsan Charitable Works Foundation.
For Zakat, Ehsan offers a service to calculate the different kinds of Zakat and pay them through the platform. It also has a relief section for projects in other countries. When we checked it on 9 October 2026, that section did not list a project specific to Gaza, so check the platform itself for what is open now. Ehsan also hosts the national charity campaign held each Ramadan. Its website is ehsan.sa.
Giving your Zakat to Gaza from Saudi Arabia
Many people in the Kingdom ask whether Zakat may be sent outside the country. The general rule scholars teach is to distribute Zakat where the wealth is. Sheikh Abdulaziz ibn Baz held that moving it for a sound reason is permitted, giving severe poverty among the examples, and that nearby poor people come first when all else is equal. Ask your own scholar about your case.
Two other questions come up often in Saudi Arabia: the nisab in riyals, and whether gold jewellery you wear is subject to Zakat. Our guide to the Zakat nisab in Saudi Arabia covers both, and our Arabic page, زكاة المال لغزة من السعودية, gives the same figures with the Hanbali view and Sheikh Ibn Baz's fatwas.
How to check any charity before you give
These checks work for a national platform, a local association or an overseas organisation.
- Type the address yourself. The official addresses are ksrelief.org, sahem.ksrelief.org and ehsan.sa; a link in a WhatsApp message or a social media post can lead to a copy of a real site.
- Be wary of appeals from people or accounts you cannot identify. Ask who is collecting the money, under what name, and how it reaches Gaza.
- Saudi charitable associations are licensed through the National Center for Non-Profit Sector Development. If an association asks you for money, check that it is one you can find through official channels.
- Read what the organisation says it does in specifics: where it works, through whom, and what it delivered recently, with dates.
- Be cautious with anyone who pressures you to give immediately. A genuine charity will answer your questions first.
- Check the rules that apply to you before you give, especially for gifts sent abroad or made in crypto.
Where Fight for Palestine fits
Fight for Palestine is a small, independent organisation. We are not a Saudi body, and we are not affiliated with KSrelief, Sahem, Ehsan or any Saudi government entity. We fund emergency aid in Gaza through local partner teams: food parcels and hot meals, clean water, medical aid, shelter and winter items.
Donations to us are made in cryptocurrency only, on our donate page, through a one-time address for each gift, with a 1% processor fee plus the network fee. Our guide to donating crypto to Gaza explains the steps. Gifts are not tax-deductible anywhere, and there is no personal income tax deduction to claim in Saudi Arabia in any case. Saudi Arabia has its own rules on crypto-assets and on donations, so check what applies to you first. Our Saudi Arabia page answers the common questions, and our Zakat page explains how Zakat gifts are recorded.
Hold us to the same checklist. Our guide on how to donate to Gaza safely goes through it in more detail. If an official Saudi channel is the right fit for you, give there. What matters is that help reaches families in Gaza.
