Jordan hosts more Palestine refugees registered with UNRWA than anywhere else, and Jerash camp, known locally as Gaza camp, was set up in 1968 for families who had left the Gaza Strip. From Amman and Zarqa to Irbid and Jerash, Zakat and Sadaqah for Gaza are part of family life, and much of the Kingdom's aid travels through Jordanian organisations such as the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization. Can I donate to Gaza from Jordan in dinars or by CliQ?
Not to us. We accept crypto only, so check your gift's value in JOD in your wallet or exchange, then send the equivalent in BTC, ETH or USDT. If you want to pay in dinars, by CliQ or by bank transfer, Jordanian organisations such as the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization list those options for Gaza on their own websites.
What is the Zakat nisab in Jordan in dinars?
It moves with the gold price. Jordan's General Iftaa Department uses 85 grams of gold, and its online calculator prices it at the 24-carat buying rate. On 9 October 2026 that calculator showed JD 92.70 a gram, which puts the nisab at about JD 7,880. Check the price on the day your Zakat is due.
Can I send my Zakat to Gaza from Jordan?
Jordan's General Iftaa Department issued a fatwa in October 2023 allowing Zakat to be moved to Gaza because of the general, urgent need there, and recommended sending it through the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization. If you choose to give your Zakat through us, start from our Zakat page or tell us it is Zakat with your transaction ID. For anything specific to you, ask the Iftaa Department or a scholar you trust.
Is there Zakat on gold jewellery I wear?
Jordan's Iftaa Department follows the Shafi'i school, and its published view is that permitted jewellery kept for wearing, within what is customary, carries no Zakat, while gold kept as savings does. Other schools differ, so ask a scholar about your own case.
What should I check before donating crypto from Jordan?
Jordan regulates virtual assets and the collection of donations, and these rules have changed recently. We cannot advise on them, so check what applies to you, including guidance from the Central Bank of Jordan and the Jordan Securities Commission, before you send a gift.
