The situation
Food insecurity in Gaza has reached levels that humanitarian agencies describe as catastrophic. Markets are disrupted, prices have soared, and many families now depend entirely on aid to eat.
Our food programme runs on two tracks. Community kitchens serve hot, nutritious meals daily — often the only cooked food available in a neighbourhood. Alongside them, our monthly food parcels give families staples they can prepare themselves: flour, rice, lentils, oil, canned protein, dates and salt — enough to sustain a family of six for a month.
We pay special attention to the most nutritionally vulnerable: infants under two, pregnant and nursing mothers, and the elderly. Specialised infant formula and fortified foods are procured and distributed under the supervision of nutrition officers.
Wherever possible we purchase locally — supporting Palestinian farmers, bakers and suppliers so that every donated dollar strengthens the community twice.
