Project overview
Crises do not hit individuals in isolation; they hit families. A father who has lost his livelihood, a mother holding a household together, children out of school and a grandparent who needs medicine — each depends on the others, and helping one means helping all. The Family Support Programme is built around that reality.
Rather than a single hand-out, this project offers a package of care coordinated by a local case worker who gets to know each family. It begins with immediate essentials — food, water, hygiene items and bedding — and then connects the family to the services they need most: healthcare referrals, school enrolment for the children, and psychosocial support for those carrying trauma.
For female-headed and vulnerable households, we add small livelihood grants — the tools of a trade, a market-stall restock, a sewing machine — that restore income and independence in an economy where jobs have vanished. Stability built on a family's own earning is stability that lasts.
The measure of this project is not how much aid a family receives, but how steadily their life is rebuilt. Family by family, case by case, it turns emergency survival into a genuine path forward.
