Who the Emirates Red Crescent, Dar Al Ber, Sharjah Charity International, Al Ihsan and The Big Heart Foundation are, what they say they do for Gaza, and how to check a charity in the UAE.

Several UAE organisations collect donations from residents and send aid to Gaza. The best known is the Emirates Red Crescent, which runs the Tarahum for Gaza campaign; others include Dar Al Ber Society in Dubai, Sharjah Charity International, Al Ihsan Charity Association in Ajman and The Big Heart Foundation. Much of their Gaza work is carried out in coordination with Operation Chivalrous Knight 3, the UAE's government relief operation for Gaza.

This guide gives a short, factual entry for each one, taken from the organisation's own website and checked in October 2026, so you can tell them apart and find the right site. It is not a ranking, we do not rate anyone, and we are not affiliated with any of them. After the entries there is a short checklist for checking any charity in the UAE, including us.

Operation Chivalrous Knight 3 and Tarahum for Gaza

Operation Chivalrous Knight 3 (Al Fares Al Shahm 3) is a UAE government humanitarian operation for Gaza, not a charity that takes donations itself. The charities below describe their Gaza projects as carried out under it or in coordination with it, and the Emirates Red Crescent's Gaza appeal carries the name Tarahum for Gaza. If you see a campaign using either name, check that it leads back to one of the organisations' official websites.

Emirates Red Crescent

The Emirates Red Crescent (الهلال الأحمر الإماراتي) is the UAE's national Red Crescent society. Its website says the UAE Red Crescent Authority was established on 31 January 1983 and became the 139th member of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies in 1986. The UAE government portal lists it among the country's charitable and humanitarian organisations.

Its donation page has a category called Relieving Palestine, described as Tarahum for Gaza, the UAE relief campaign for people affected by the war in Gaza. The site offers online donations and SMS donations. Its website is emiratesrc.ae; use the donation pages there rather than numbers or links forwarded to you.

Dar Al Ber Society

Dar Al Ber Society (جمعية دار البر) is a Dubai charity. Its website says it was founded in 1979 under a ministerial decree issued by the then Ministry of Social Affairs, with its main office in Dubai.

In July 2026 it reported funding Hope Step, a programme run with Operation Chivalrous Knight 3 that provides medical assessment, prosthetic limbs, physiotherapy and follow-up for people in Gaza who lost limbs in the war, through the UAE Floating Hospital in Al Arish, Egypt. Its site lists donation by bank transfer, online payment, SMS and at its branches. Its website is daralber.ae.

Sharjah Charity International

Sharjah Charity International (جمعية الشارقة الخيرية) was founded in 1989 by Amiri Decree No. 1 of that year as the Charitable Works Association, according to its website, and took its current name in 2000. It is based in Sharjah and its toll-free number is 80014.

Its site describes Gaza projects carried out in coordination with Operation Chivalrous Knight 3, including a Warm Winter to Gaza campaign announced in October 2025 to send blankets, warm clothing, food and heating devices, partly by relief ship, and an appeal for people in Gaza who lost limbs. It lists donation through its website, by phone, through field collectors and by SMS. Its website is shjc.sharjah.ae.

Al Ihsan Charity Association, Ajman

Al Ihsan Charity Association (جمعية الإحسان الخيرية) is based in Ajman. Its website says it was founded in 1990, officially declared in Ajman in 1998, and recognised as a public-welfare association by a 2012 decision of the Ministry of Social Affairs.

It runs a Gaza relief campaign page inviting people to support those affected among the Palestinian people, with online and SMS donation options. It also lists bank deposits, a mobile app and the phone number 800 16. Its website is alihsan.ae.

The Big Heart Foundation

The Big Heart Foundation (مؤسسة القلب الكبير) is a UAE humanitarian foundation. Its website says it began as a campaign in 2013 and became a foundation in 2015, launched by Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi.

Its For Gaza campaign, run with the Palestinian organisation Taawon, provides custom prosthetic limbs, assistive devices, rehabilitation and psychosocial support for children in Gaza living with limb amputations, under a three-year commitment. Its campaign page lists online, SMS and bank-transfer donations. Its website is tbhf.ae.

How to check a charity before you give in the UAE

The same few checks work for a large organisation and a small one. None of them takes long.

  • Type the web address yourself. Impostor pages copy the names and logos of well-known charities, especially during Ramadan and emergency appeals.
  • Check the UAE government portal. The page on ways of doing charity on u.ae names the country's charitable and humanitarian organisations and donation platforms, and links to the licensing authorities in each emirate.
  • Use SMS short codes, bank details and QR codes only when you find them on the organisation's own website, not in a forwarded message.
  • Be careful with donation links on social media. The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department advised residents in February 2026 to avoid unfamiliar donation links and campaigns shared online, and to give through licensed government or authorised platforms.
  • Read what the organisation says it does in specifics: where it works, with whom, and what it delivered. A genuine charity will answer questions and will still be there tomorrow.

Where Fight for Palestine fits

Fight for Palestine is a small, independent organisation. We fund emergency aid in Gaza through local partner teams: food parcels and hot meals, clean water, medical aid, shelter and winter items. We are not registered as a charity in the UAE and are not connected to any of the organisations above or to any UAE government body. We accept donations in crypto only.

Hold us to the same checklist. The UAE has its own rules on collecting donations and on virtual assets, so please check the rules that apply to you before giving. Our guide on how to donate to Gaza safely goes through the checks in more detail, donate to Gaza from the UAE covers giving from here, and Zakat nisab in the UAE explains the nisab in dirhams. There is also an Arabic page, التبرع لغزة من الإمارات. If one of the organisations above is the right fit for you, give there. What matters is that help reaches families in Gaza.
