To donate crypto to Gaza from the United States, check which coins and networks your exchange or app can send, pick the same coin and network on our donate page, and send to the one-time address it gives you. The catch is that US platforms differ a lot. Coinbase supports USDT only on Ethereum, so Coinbase users can't send USDT on Tron. Kraken can send USDT on Tron, Solana or Ethereum. Cash App sends Bitcoin only, and PayPal, Venmo and Robinhood don't offer USDT at all.

Below is what each platform's own help pages said when we checked them on October 9, 2026. Platforms change their coins and rules often, so look at your send or withdraw screen before you give. We have no relationship with any of these companies, and we don't recommend one over another.

Which US platforms can send what

We accept Bitcoin, Ethereum, and USDT on Ethereum (ERC-20), Tron (TRC-20) or Solana (SPL). This is how those options line up with the platforms American donors use most:

  • Coinbase: BTC, ETH and USDT on Ethereum (ERC-20) only. No USDT on Tron or Solana.
  • Kraken: BTC, ETH and USDT on Tron, Solana or Ethereum, among other networks. Kraken does not serve residents of New York or Maine.
  • Gemini: BTC, ETH and USDT on Ethereum (ERC-20) or Solana (SPL). Its USDT page says the Tron version is not supported.
  • Cash App: Bitcoin only.
  • Strike: Bitcoin only, sent on-chain or over Lightning.
  • PayPal and Venmo: BTC and ETH, plus other coins we don't accept. No USDT.
  • Robinhood: BTC and ETH, plus other coins we don't accept. No USDT.

Coinbase: can you send USDT on TRC-20?

No. Coinbase's own USDT page says it only supports USDT on the Ethereum blockchain (ERC-20). If you hold USDT on Coinbase and want to give it, choose USDT on Ethereum (ERC-20) on our donate page, then choose Ethereum as the network when you send. You can also give BTC on the Bitcoin network or ETH on Ethereum.

Coinbase warns that on-chain sends are irreversible and that it can't retrieve funds sent to the wrong address or on the wrong network. Some exchanges show Ethereum layer-2 networks such as Base or Arbitrum next to Ethereum. They are not the same network, so pick Ethereum itself.

Two Coinbase settings can delay a send. If you turned on the address book allowlist, a new address can only be used 48 hours after you add it, so it can't be used for a one-time donation address straight away. And crypto bought with a bank deposit can be on hold before it can be sent; Coinbase says hold periods depend on your account history and that debit card deposits let you send immediately.

Fees on Ethereum are often higher than on Tron or Solana. Check the network fee Coinbase shows before you confirm, especially for a small gift.

Kraken: USDT on Tron, Solana or Ethereum

Kraken lists USDT on several networks, including Tron, Solana and Ethereum, which makes it one of the few large US platforms that can send USDT on TRC-20. Its help page warns that the network you select for a withdrawal must match the network of the address you are sending to, or the funds will be lost, and that fees and minimums differ by network.

When you add a new withdrawal address from a device Kraken doesn't recognize, it emails you a confirmation link that is valid for one hour. Confirm it before you send. For the details of a Tron transfer, see how to send USDT on TRC-20, and for how the networks compare, TRC-20 vs ERC-20.

Cash App and Strike: Bitcoin only

Cash App lets you send Bitcoin to an outside wallet by entering the address manually. Its help page sets a minimum of 0.001 BTC for a Standard-speed withdrawal and 0.00005 BTC for Rush or Priority. It also says withdrawals to outside wallets can't be reversed and advises sending only to your own wallet or to someone you know and trust, so take time to confirm you are on our real page before you give.

Our Bitcoin donation address is an ordinary on-chain address, not a Lightning invoice. In Cash App or Strike, send on the Bitcoin network, not over Lightning. The same applies to any wallet that offers both.

PayPal, Venmo and Robinhood: BTC or ETH

PayPal and Venmo let US users transfer crypto to outside wallets, but neither offers USDT. To give from either, choose Bitcoin or Ethereum. Both cap crypto transfers at $25,000 a week. PayPal says crypto bought from a bank account may take several days to clear before you can transfer it, and Venmo requires you to verify your identity before you can use crypto transfers.

Robinhood also supports sending BTC and ETH, and its help page says transfers are final and can't be reversed, even by Robinhood. It doesn't support Lightning for Bitcoin. Robinhood shows USDT market data but doesn't support trading it.

Step by step: sending your gift

Whichever platform you use, the steps are the same:

  • Open your platform's send or withdraw screen and note which networks it offers for the coin you want to give.
  • Type fightforpalestine.org/donate into your browser yourself. Pick the same coin and network, and press the button to get your one-time address. Use the Zakat button on our Zakat page instead if the gift is Zakat.
  • Copy the address and paste it into the send screen. Check the first six and last six characters match.
  • Select the matching network, check the amount is above the minimum shown on our page, and look at the fee.
  • For a large gift, send a small test first and wait for our page to show it.
  • Keep the transaction ID. It is your record of the gift, and we can confirm the amount and date against it.

Tax and records for US donors

The IRS says that for US tax purposes digital assets are property, not currency. Gifts to Fight for Palestine are not tax-deductible in the US, because we don't publish a charity registration, and we don't claim 501(c)(3) status. Keep a note of what you paid for the coins and the date you gave them, and ask a tax adviser how the gift affects your return. Our crypto donation tax guide summarizes what the IRS says about donating crypto.

Rules on crypto and on giving abroad can change, and some apply differently by state. Check the rules that apply to you before you give.

If you are giving Zakat from crypto you hold, our guide to Zakat on crypto explains how people value BTC, ETH and USDT on their Zakat date. Our country page for donating to Gaza from the USA answers other common questions from American donors.

Check before you send

Crypto appeals for Gaza attract scammers, and a crypto transfer can't be pulled back. Only use an address from an organization's own website, never one sent by message or posted on social media, and check any organization before you give, including us. Our guides on how to donate to Gaza safely and donating crypto to Gaza go through the checks.

Frequently asked questions

Can I donate to Gaza with crypto from Coinbase?

Yes, if you send a coin and network we accept. From Coinbase that means BTC on Bitcoin, ETH on Ethereum, or USDT on Ethereum (ERC-20). Pick the same option on our donate page to get your one-time address.

Does Coinbase support USDT on TRC-20?

No. Coinbase's USDT page says it only supports USDT on Ethereum (ERC-20). To send USDT on Tron, you would need a platform or wallet that supports Tron.

Which US exchanges can send USDT on Tron (TRC-20)?

Of the platforms we checked, Kraken lists USDT on Tron. Coinbase, Gemini, PayPal, Venmo, Robinhood and Cash App did not list it on the pages we read. Look at your platform's withdraw screen, because supported networks change.

Can I donate Bitcoin from Cash App?

Yes. Cash App can send Bitcoin to an outside address, with a minimum of 0.001 BTC at Standard speed. Send on-chain, not over Lightning, because our Bitcoin donation address is an on-chain address.

Can I donate from PayPal or Venmo?

Yes, in Bitcoin or Ethereum, which both can send to outside wallets. Neither offers USDT. We don't accept PayPal or Venmo cash payments.

Is my crypto donation to Gaza tax-deductible in the US?

Not if you give to Fight for Palestine. We don't publish a charity registration, so gifts to us are not tax-deductible. See crypto donation tax for what the IRS says, and ask a tax adviser about your own situation.
