The situation
Winter in Gaza means driving rain, flooding and night temperatures that fall dangerously low — conditions that turn tents and damaged buildings into serious health risks, especially for babies and the elderly.
Our winterisation programme moves ahead of the season: distributing thermal blankets, winter clothing kits for children, mattresses that insulate against cold ground, plastic sheeting for waterproofing, and safe heating support where conditions allow.
Drainage works around displacement sites reduce flooding, and shelter teams prioritise families in the most exposed locations before the first storms arrive.
Winter is predictable. The suffering it causes doesn't have to be. Giving early means protection is in place before the cold — not after it.
